Sleep Like the Pros: Performance, Student Athlete Edition

For youth and high-school athletes, their parents, coaches, schools, and clubs.

About this program

Student athletes are asked to train hard, perform, and be at school early, during the years when their body clock naturally runs late. Telling them to go to bed earlier does not resolve that conflict.

This program teaches athletes and the adults around them how to make evidence-informed sleep and timing decisions inside the schedule they actually have.

What it covers

  • What sleep does for learning, recovery, mood, and injury risk
  • Why teenage body clocks run late, and what that means for early practices
  • Travel, tournaments, and late games
  • Protecting sleep around screens, homework, and training load
  • Making a realistic plan instead of an ideal one
  • When a sleep problem is not just a schedule problem
