Sleep Like the Pros: Travel Edition

Designing the guest experience around better sleep, for hotels, resorts, and hospitality groups.

About this program

Guests arrive across time zones, on disrupted schedules, into rooms designed mostly for comfort rather than for sleep. Light, sound, temperature, technology, and the timing of service all shape whether they sleep well, and most of those factors are within a property's control.

This program brings behavioral sleep medicine, circadian science, and environmental sleep science to the guest experience. It is not a sleep hygiene talk. It looks at the room, the property, the operation, and the guest journey, and at how a property can tell whether a sleep-focused initiative is scientifically defensible.

What it covers

  • Why sleep belongs in the guest experience, and what a property can and cannot influence
  • Circadian disruption during travel, jet lag, and arrival timing
  • Light, lighting design, blackout, indicator lights, and morning light
  • Noise, acoustics, temperature, bedding, and in-room technology
  • The wake-up experience, housekeeping timing, early checkouts, and late-night service
  • Food, beverage, caffeine, and alcohol education without overstated claims
  • Staff education and guest-facing sleep education
  • How to evaluate sleep-related amenity claims and measure whether initiatives improve guest experience
